The Club
The Coast Club at UBC is located off Wesbrook Mall at Thunderbird Blvd and East Mall near the Thunderbird Winter Sports Centre. The Coast Club offers a very diverse tennis program and strives to be the best public tennis facility with a club like atmosphere. At the Coast Club the social element of tennis is emphasized and this is what keeps participants of all ages and playing abilities coming back year after year. Memberships to the club are available and provide benefits such as, use of the fitness facility, seven day advanced court bookings, priority program registration and reduced program fees. |

Facility
The Coast Club at UBC Tennis Centre is comprised of 10 outdoor hard courts ( 6 lit for evening play) and 4 year round indoor hard courts (with tournament level lighting). There is also a fitness centre complete with state of the art strength and cardio machines, free weights, personal training programs designed with your fitness and health needs in mind and change rooms with showers. |

Programs
The Coast Club at UBC tennis centre is one of the sport facilities operated by the Department of Athletics and Recreation at the University of British Columbia. All tennis programs are managed by Campus Recreation, a financially self-supporting, unsubsidized unit of the Department of Athletics and Recreation. A variety of tennis instructional and organized play programs are offered in three sessions, Fall, Winter and Summer. These include programs for adults (novice grand slam, grand slam, matchpoint, women's doubles league and UBC singles league), juniors (junior academy and high performance) and Changing Aging (older adults). Also available are private and semi-private lessons, the computerized sportswall called "Bullseye" and a Ball Machine. Tennis programs are run by coaches Elena Gishiyants, Edmund Wong, Angela Earl and Godwin Yu. The Coast Club at UBC also plays host to the Vancouver Open and Coast Open tennis tournaments. |
